Yang Jiashu
Graduate of the MSc in Finance, Shenzhen Finance Institute (SFI), Class of 2022
Now work in Investment Banking Department, CITIC Securities
He made up his mind to work immediately after graduation when he was a graduate student, but he was not so sure about the direction. Therefore, he applied for daily internships for different positions, including the Internet, sales, research, and investment banking, and got some internship opportunities.
He believes that interns should work earnestly and take the initiative to undertake some tasks, which can not only improve their own skills but also polish their personal resume. For students of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen), there are many internship opportunities thanks to various financial and Internet companies in Shenzhen. If students have determined that they would choose employment after graduation in the future, they can seek more internships to experience and find one as they wish and fit.
Some summary and sharing about the internships:
1) One should cultivate a sense of responsibility: It is crucial to take every job assigned by the leader seriously and ensure the quality of their fulfillment;
2) One should foster result-oriented thinking: It is necessary to first clarify the requirements and time arrangements of the tasks. During the execution, one should provide timely feedback when encountering problems and ask senior colleagues for advice if there is something unclear; and
3) One should adopt a good mentality: It is important to cultivate a sense of ownership, align with the standards required as regular employees, and aim for higher self-positioning.
