Biography
Dr. Wong obtained a bachelor’s degree in economics from Dickinson College (Summa Cum Laude) and received an MBA and Ph.D. from California State University, Los Angeles. He has taught at the Maryland State University in College Park and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He has worked as the Dean of the School of Business Administration, the Accounting Professor and Director of the Corporate Governance Center in The Chinese University of Hong Kong. As a researcher, his research has been published by numerous magazines and journals such as The Wall Street Journal, The Asian Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Globe and Mail, The South China Morning Post, Hong Kong Economic Journal, The ACCA Journal and The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce Magazine. Furthermore, his paper was also cited by the U.S. Congress securities-fraud case. As a senior researcher in Yale University Global Corporate Governance Academic Network, Professor Wong currently takes office in the "China Securities Market Investment Encyclopedia", Review of Accounting Studies, Auditing: Journal of Theory and Practice, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Journal of Business, Finance, and Accounting Editorial Board. He was also the president of the North American Chinese Accounting Professors Association from 2006 to 2007.
Professor Wong has published numerous academic papers in the world's top financial and accounting journals such as Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, Contemporary Accounting Research and Auditing: A Journal of Theory and Practice.
