Forum Review | The First China Enterprises Going Global Forum Successfully Held

On March 7, the First China Enterprises Going Global Forum: New Models, New Opportunities and New Challenges for Enterprises Going Global, hosted by the School of Management and Economics (SME) and Shenzhen Finance Institute (SFI), The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen), organized by the Shenzhen Institute of Data Economy (SIDE), and supported by the Development and Reform Bureau of Futian District, Shenzhen and the Shenzhen Cross-border E-commerce Association, Longgang District, was successfully held at Liwen Hall, CUHK-Shenzhen. The Forum gathered many elites including government leaders, business strategists, scholars, and other heavyweight guests, with more than 500 entrepreneur representatives and executives actively enrolling, to jointly discuss counterstrategies and development paths centering on the status quo and future trends of Chinese enterprises going global.



Professor Zhu Shiping, Vice President of CUHK-Shenzhen; Mr. Ye Wenge, Deputy Director-General of the Commerce Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality; and Dr. Jane Lee, President of Our Hong Kong Foundation, delivered wonderful speeches to kick off the Forum.

Later, Professor Wang Jian, Associate Director of SFI, Director of FEMBA/EDP Programme, and Director of Center for China Economy and Enterprise Overseas Strategy Research, further introduced the new platform of “Center for Chinese Economy and Enterprise Overseas Strategy Research.”


Afterward, Professor Zhang Bohui, Executive Dean of SME and Associate Director of SIDE, CUHK-Shenzhen; Professor Ai Chunrong, Associate Dean of SME and Associate Director of SFI, CUHK-Shenzhen; and Professor Tong Shilu, Associate Dean of SME, CUHK-Shenzhen, came onstage to present certificates of appointment to members of the Advisory Committee present, which marked the members’ formal admission to the platform.

After the ceremony, Professor Andrew Sheng Len-tao, a Member of the National Financial Regulatory Administration, the International Advisory Committee of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, the Advisory Committee of the Chief Executive, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the International Committee of China Investment Corporation, delivered a keynote speech. He offered deep insights into the international situation, challenges, and opportunities faced by Chinese enterprises going global and further explained the key role of finance in the era of intelligence.
