Jiang Han: Decoding CEOs’ Political Inclinations and Personality Traits with AI

Release time:20 December 2025

In today’s era, as AI sweeps across all industries, corporate management and strategic decision-making are undergoing profound intelligent transformation. Professor Jiang Han from the School of Management and Economics (SME), The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen), closely integrates machine learning algorithms with corporate governance research from an interdisciplinary perspective and pioneers a study on identifying CEOs’ political inclinations based on voice and text data. The study breaks through the limitations of traditional reliance on questionnaires or public statements, providing a new tool for corporate strategic decision-making and risk early-warning.

Commercial Applications

From Academic Research to Corporate Risk Control

Corporate Strategic Early-Warning and Governance Optimization

Investors can use the analyzed CEOs’ political inclinations to predict their stance on key issues such as China policy, environmental regulations, and labor standards, so as to provide a powerful reference for ESG investment decisions.

Boards of directors can use the tool to assess the CEOs’ decision-making preferences, effectively avoiding governance risks caused by deviations between personal stances and the company’s core values.

AI Empowerment in Site Management for the Manufacturing Industry

In addition to the CEOs’ inclinations analysis, Professor Jiang has collaborated with manufacturing companies to develop a multimodal workshop behavior analysis system:

By analyzing tens of thousands of hours of workshop monitoring video, the system can identify employees’ operational behaviors in real time and accurately predict safety accidents and defect rates.

In pilot workshops, the algorithm has successfully helped companies reduce safety accidents and defect rates, demonstrating its high practical value in industrial site management.
