SME Enters UTD Top 100 Business School Research Rankings (2021–2025), with Steady Ranking Improvements!

Recently, UTD released its latest “Top 100 Worldwide Business School Rankings Based on Research Contributions (20212025).” The School of Management and Economics (SME) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) achieved another success, with 119 high-quality research papers published in the UTD24 top international journals. SME ranks 4th in the Chinese mainland and 73rd globally, a rise of 22 places compared to the previous cycle (2020–2024). Furthermore, in the 2025 UTD single-year ranking, SME ranks 1st in the Chinese mainland and 45th globally (*as of March 17, 2026), fully demonstrating its outstanding research output and steadily increasing international influence.

For a long time, SME, CUHK-Shenzhen has focused on in-depth exploration and innovative breakthroughs in academic research, actively supporting faculty teams in using international frontier methods for interdisciplinary practice. This effort has yielded a series of high-level research results rooted in Chinese management practices with both academic depth and influence, making significant contributions to business education and research development in China and globally. Looking ahead, SME will continue to uphold the concepts of innovation, cooperation, and openness, continuously improving its research system and deepening academic innovation to contribute more to cultivating business talents with both a global vision and social responsibility, as well as leading business knowledge innovation and industrial advancement.
