Global Vision and Chinese Focus
Shenzhen Finance Institute
Shenzhen Finance Institute (SFI) is the post-graduate arm of the School of Management and Economics, CUHK-Shenzhen. Our dual mission: premier academic training at the MSc level, and innovative research in global finance, economics and management. All faculty boast extensive international training, while senior executive engagement provides practical perspectives. We deliver “Global Vision with Chinese Focus”.
Mission and Vision
01 Nurture high-end talents
SFI collaborates with CUHK-Shenzhen to provide a range of Master's degree programs in economics, finance, and management, catering to both full-time, part-time and non-degree executive students. Our rigorous course content and quality emphasis ensure that graduates emerge as highly sought-after talents in the finance and business sectors.
02 Conduct high level research
SFI conducts high-level economic research in collaboration with universities, policy institutions, and financial organizations worldwide. Research interests run the gamut from capital market and fintech to social finance, sustainability, and public policy, with output in the form of publications and international conferences.
03 Establish a global exchange platform
SFI hosts a wide range of international academic conferences, and has co-hosted symposiums with internationally renowned institutions, such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Princeton University, and the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). In addition, SFI also initiated VoxChina.org, a well-regarded academic exchange platform that publishes advanced scholarly research that addresses varied issues concerning China’s economic development.
04 Function as a state-of-the-art think-tank
Our research centers focus on frontier economic and financial issues, in collaboration with public policy institutions. Output from these several research centers and postdoctoral programs lead to innovative financial techniques and quantitative tools to streamline markets and inform policy decisions, with a focus on the Greater Bay Area and broader Chinese economy.
05 Collaborate with financial institutions
SFI actively collaborates with financial institutions to facilitate industry progress and social development through consultation, exchanges and partnerships. These collaborations ensure a mutually beneficial relationship that drives forward industry growth and contributes to societal development.
