Zeng Yuchen
Graduate of the MSc in Marketing, Shenzhen Finance Institute (SFI), Class of 2022
After self-exploration and internship, Zeng Yuchen decided that he wanted to do something that could combine business and technology in the future, so he returned to SFI to study for an MSc in Marketing programme to cultivate his business acumen. This fall, he received multiple offers from Fortune 500 and well-known companies in the recruitment season.
He once worked as a specialist intern at Apple Store, a marketing planning intern at Nike, and a summer intern at Budweiser. From front-end retail sales to positions of middle- and back-end data analysis and business digitalization in the FMCG industry, he discovered his interest in leveraging combined advantages of technical know-how and business thinking to empower business and commercial decisions. These internships have helped him clearly understand his own advantages and competitiveness and generally guided him to make more targeted choices in the subsequent autumn recruitment.
Regarding how to choose a good position, in his opinion, a good job has four key points: 1. the industry needs to be promising and the job is valued or placed in a core position by the company or department; 2. job reporting should allow young people to have regular contact with senior managers of the department or the company; 3. the job can access different departments in charge of varied businesses to enhance connections and comprehensively learn the business operating mechanisms; and 4. the company should have a mature organizational structure and a complete system for talent training and cultivation.
