Prof. Wang Jingqi Won the “Youth Scientific Research Award” of CUHK-Shenzhen in 2022
Recently, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) successfully held The Second Scientific Research Award Ceremony. According to the resolution of the award’s Judge Panel, seven professors won the “Distinguished Scientific Research Award” and “Youth Scientific Research Award” of CUHK-Shenzhen in 2022. Prof. Wang Jingqi from the School of Management and Economics (SME), CUHK-Shenzhen, was awarded the “Youth Scientific Research Award”.
Professor Tom Z.Q. Luo, Vice President (Academic), Professor Tony Li, Associate Vice President, and the Deans and Associate Deans in charge of the schools' scientific research attended the ceremony. Professor Tony Li delivered the opening speech, and Dr. Lin Hui, Deputy Director of the Research Administration Office, was the host.
Prof. Tony Li pointed out in his speech that CUHK-Shenzhen attaches great importance to scientific research evaluation, and the establishment of the Scientific Research Award is an important work in the university's scientific research evaluation system. Next year, the university is going to celebrate its 10th anniversary, and we hope that researchers will continue to uphold the original spirit of scientific research, adhere to the original innovation, and constantly pursue excellence, to write a new chapter for the university's scientific research endeavors to reach new heights.
Prof. Tom Luo, delivered a speech expressing his warm congratulations to this year's winners. He also put forward several hopes. First, the university's recruitment, promotion, and awards emphasize on evaluating the teachers' teaching and research level and contribution; whether they can overcome challenging scientific problems, make influential academic achievements, and carry out scientific research independently have always been the academic evaluation criteria of the university, and we hope that you will be down-to-earth, and make more influential and innovative achievements; Secondly, it is expected that the teachers will continue to take advantage of the international academic exchanges and at the same time strengthen the cooperation with domestic excellent research teams and famous enterprises in the industrial sector, so as to practically solve some technical problems, contribute to the development of national science and technology and enhance the influence of CUHK-Shenzhen; Thirdly, the university now has six Schools, with two Schools in the pipeline, gradually building up a diversified campus culture and research culture. He hopes that there can be more exchanges among various disciplines and fields, and that new research sparks can be collided through cross-fertilization.

Prof. Wang Jingqi is an Associate Professor of SME and Assistant Dean of the Graduate School. His research focuses on technological innovation and management mode innovation in the supply chain and mobilizes enterprises' R&D motivation by mechanism, especially for the chip industry. Prof. Wang was awarded the Guangdong Provincial Outstanding Youth Program in 2021, realizing the zero breakthrough in this award of CUHK-Shenzhen, and was also selected for the national talent program and received funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He actively cooperates with Huawei, Tencent, Alibaba, and other enterprises, combining academic research with business practice. As a young scholar, he has made far-reaching contributions to the development of enterprises and even society in terms of scientific research.
